Bowen Consulting Group provide constructability planning for hydro-turbine component assembly, transportation, lifting attachments, temporary support mechanisms, rigging engineering and critical lift procedures. This project was an Alberici joint venture is building the new hydroelectric generating plant at the Captain Anthony Meldahl Locks and Dam. Upon completion, the plant will generate 105 megawatts of power and will be the largest hydroelectric plant on the Ohio River.
The Meldahl project includes installation of three 35-megawatt bulb turbine generator units and other equipment. The Voith Hydro turbine generators will be housed in a submersible powerhouse.
The Meldahl Hydroelectric Project is a joint venture between Alberici Constructors and Baker Concrete Construction. At its peak, the project employed more than 400 construction workers in various trades.
